SASANIAN KINGS. Khosrau II, 591-628. Follis (Bronze, 31 mm, 10.94 g, 1 h), imitating an issue of Heraclius with Heraclius Constantine, struck during the Sasanian occupation of Syria, uncertain mint, 610-629. Two imperial bust facing, draped and wearing crowns with pendilia; between them and in fields to left and right, cross; around, traces of blundered legend. Rev. Large M in center; to left, A/N; to right, XX; above, cross; below, A; in exergue, ONK(retrograd). Cf. H. Pottier: 7th Century 'barbarous' Folles, in: Coinage and History 4 (2015), pl. 2/3, no. 24-29 (for similar types). Apparently unpublished and unique. Good very fine.
